Kunst-und Auktionshaus Schloss Hagenburg
Schloßstr. 21 31558 Hagenburg
Hagenburg Castle was built as a moated castle and was first mentioned in 1378. Due to its ideal location, not far from Lake Steinhude, the counts and princes of Schaumburg-Lippe used Hagenburg as a summer residence. Count Wilhelm of Schaumburg-Lippe built a 1.5 km long branch canal to Lake Steinhude. Today the castle is owned by the Frantz family. The Hagenburg Castle auction house was founded in 1996 as a family-run auction house, and around 3-4 art and antiques auctions are held there every year.
