Antique Japan Wooden Jewelry Box Goblen Tapestry Cover of Millet "The Gleaners"
Worn, the goblen tapestry is very worn, a bit torn, and the colors are faded. The silk and velvet interior is very stained. Not shown in the pictures, the top of the interior can be pulled out for revealing another chamber underneath divided into 6 rectangles in the same yellowish (stained) design. The box got a bronze decorated handle, the Mahogany wood got some scuffs and is signed JAPAN on the bottom.
The box is from around the 1930's and is 21X17X9cm in size. Stained inside.
