An antique Russian Orthodox Iberian Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos, or the Gatekeeper. The mixed media icon with egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood panel. Inscribed upper to the center. Circa: late 18th century. The Iberian Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos or the Gatekeeper is an Orthodox icon of the Virgin Mary with the Child, revered as miraculous, and belongs to the Hodegetria icon painting type.
