A watercolor painting by the Russian artist Ivan Bilibin, Tsar Saltan, from 1929, relating to his costume design illustrations of the fairy tale by A.S. Pushkin, The Tale of Tsar Saltan. Framed and matted in black. The title of the artwork in Russian is written on the right in the center, below is the date of creation, 1929, and the artists initials in Russian and English. Stamped and numbered lower left. Ivan Yakovlevich Bilibin, 1876 to 1942, Russian artist, famous illustrator of Russian fairy tales and epics, including fairy tales by Alexander Pushkin, theater designer, member of the World of Art group.
