FREDERICK DANIEL HARDY ANTIQUE BRITISH OIL PAINTING
Frederick Daniel Hardy, British, 1826 to 1911, an oil on canvas painting Loading the Cart, 1877. Signed and dated lower right. Note: Frederick Daniel Hardy was an English genre painter and member of the Cranbrook Colony of artists. Frederick enrolled at the Royal Academy of Music, Hanover Square, at the age of seventeen. He studied for about three years, but finally abandoned music to become an artist like his elder brother George Hardy. In 1851 Hardy had his first two pictures accepted for exhibition at the Royal Academy. Hardy became famous for his depictions of the daily life of children, and also for providing glimpses into the elaborate interiors of Victorian homes. One of a kind artwork.
