RARE MAMLUK ENAMELLED GLASS MOSQUE LAMP
Ca. AD 1300.
An Islamic Mamluk enamelled glass mosque lamp decorated with floral and animal motifs. The lamp has an inverted pear-shaped body adorned with three coloured birds facing right, alternating with plants under the handles. The shoulders are decorated with enamelled plants and connected to a conical neck with coloured globes. This piece is accompanied by a historical report from Alessandro Neri, an international Cultural Heritage expert based in Florence, Italy.
