HELLENISTIC GOLD PENDANT AND NECKLACE
Ca. BC 400 - 300A Hellenistic gold circular pendant and necklace. The pendant has a central oval garnet, with four smaller round garnets (two missing) in hexagonal position in the middle of floral filigree motifs. Four spirals are located at the top and the lower part of the medallion. The necklace is realised of gold and glass beads. For similar see: Christie's, Live Auction 1445, ANCIENT JEWELRY, Lot. 119. This piece has undergone X-ray fluorescence analysis to confirm the metallurgical content suggesting its ancient origin and lack of modern trace elements.
