A Rare Chanukah Lamp made by Bezalel , Jerusalem circa 1910
Decorated with temple styled candelabra and two lions laying down on either side of the center lamp. Eight separate wick holders protruding from the medallion patterned box with similar cover , where the oil is stored. Standing on four ball shaped feet. Captioned at top of lamp is Chanukah in Hebrew and further captioned is "Haneiros Hallalu Kodesh Heim". which is translated to "These candles are holy".
This lamp is one of the earliest Chanukah lamps to be made by the Bezalel School of Arts. Normally this lamp is not one that is found at auctions, it is found at museums, see below.
Marked on reverse "Bezalel Jerusalem" in Hebrew
Good condition. one tail of a lion in the backplate is dented inward.
