A Silver Lidded Serving Dish and Tray Set.
Elaborate silver serving dish, or lidded tureen, set on a matching silver tray. The entire piece is elaborately decorated with intricate floral and scroll engravings. The lid features a striking finial, resembling a rose bud, which serves as both a functional and decorative element. The handles on both the dish and the tray are elegantly designed with curving shapes, adding to the overall refinement.
The body of the dish rests on small, ornate feet, which raise it slightly above the tray. The matching tray mirrors the same intricate engravings found on the dish and adds a cohesive, formal look to the set.
This piece is meant to be used in an upscale dining setting, during formal occasions, and the high level of craftsmanship suggests it was made by a skilled silversmith. The design elements, especially the engraving and finial, hint at influences from the Rococo style.
