Howdah palanquin elephant saddle, Late 19th century

Rare crowbars called "Howdah", elephant saddle, used in ancient times in Asia and India for the transport of wealthy people during hunting trips and ceremonies wedding. Symbol of great wealth, the "Howdah" could be carved and sometimes decorated with colored drapes.
