"הדבר מכוער מאוד שסופר סת"ם מהדר לקנות עורות של נבילות בעד בצע כסף" - מכתב שאלה מהר"ר ירמיה צבי קליין מהומנא לרבו - רבה של חוסט. תרפ"ד (1924).
תוכן: שאלה ביו"ד סי' פ"ט בענין גבינה ושאלה מעניינת אודות מעשה שהיה סופר סת"ם שבדווקא קונה עורות מנבילות לכתיבת ספר תורה – ש-עלותם יותר זול – ואולי נאבד נאמנותו עקב כך, "ובאמת הסוחר אמר לי כמצחק 'כי לכתוב ס"ת קדוש יחפוץ שהעגלים יתנבלו..".
