Hebrew Classics: First Edition of Yam Shel Shlomo by the Maharshal. Prague, 1616.
The Maharshal's fundamental commentary on tractate Bava Kama – First Edition.
The Maharshal wrote Yam Shel Shlomo as a summarization of halachic rulings, based on the order of the Talmudic tractates. His composition examines the subjects, starting their initial sources, through the Rishonim and up until the contemporary practices during the period when he lived. Even though the Maharshal’s original objective was to write a halacha book, Yam Shel Shlomo was accepted as one of the fundamental books on Talmudic commentary.

30 cm. 46; 49-166 ff. Prague, 1616. Good condition. Stains and wormholes. Old binding. Small tear on title page. Ownership stamps on title page. Stefansky Sifrei Yesod, No. 64
