Letter from Rabbi Chaim Isaac Halberstam of Slotfina, son-in-law of the Atzei Chaim of Sighet
A mazal tov letter sent by the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Yitzchak Isek Halberstam of Slotfina – a scion of the tsaddikim of Sanz and one of the greatest teachers of the Sanz dynasty. Handwritten and signed by him.
Mazal tov blessings on the occasion of a Bar Mitzvah.
Rabbi Chaim Yitzchak Isek Halberstam of Szalatfina (1899-1943) was the son of Rabbi Yehoshua of Dolina and the grandson of Rabbi Baruch of Gurlitz, the son of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz. Rabbi Chaim was an outstanding student of the Atzei Chaim of Sighet, who chose him to be his son-in-law. He was murdered with his wife and most of his descendents. He was survived by only two of his daughters, who were married to Rabbi Yoel Teitelbaum of Kirelhaz and Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch Halberstam of Rudnick, in the United States.
