Likutei HaShas from the Arizal ZY"A, Kach Heh, and the Letters Resh Shin Gimel, Zalkwa 1793 – Matzat Shmurot for Mahar"n Shapira - Signature of the Gaon Harav Baruch David of Vishnitsa ZT"L

Likutei HaShas from the Arizal ZY"A, with added works Kach Heh (by the Kabbalist Yeshar of Candia) and The Letters Resh Shin Gimel (attributed to him, though some question this, see the editor's note), printed in Zalkwa in 1793.

At the top of the title page is the signature: "The holy Baruch David Kohen of Vishnitsa."

Included is the book Matzat Shmurot, on the secrets of Mezuzah, Tzitzit, Tefillin, the order of service, etc., by Rabbi Natan Shapira, disciple of the Arizal ZY"A. The title page lists Amsterdam, but it was likely printed in Poland due to censorship concerns, likely in the years 1770 or 1776 (depending on how the details of the title page are interpreted).

This is a very rare edition, and there is no complete copy in the Sifrei HaLevi collection, nor is it included in Otzar HaChochma.

The esteemed Rabbi Baruch David Kohen of Vishnitsa ZT"L (born 1855, passed away 1925) was a descendant of the famous Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Vishnitsa and the grandson of Rabbi David, the Magid of Radimishal. He was a prominent figure among the Chassidim of Sanz, highly regarded by the revered Rebbe of Shinova, as noted in a letter from his son, the Rebbe of Siesnova. Upon the directive of his holy master, the Sanz Rebbe ZT"L, he made aliyah to the Land of Israel and settled in Tzfas, where he established the well-known kloiz of Sanz Chassidim and served as the spiritual leader of all holy matters there. He was one of the presidents of the Tzedakat Ram Ba"an and authored the books Chibat HaAretz and Berachat HaAretz, both of which were printed in Jerusalem.
