Sefer Kerem Shlomo, Pressburg 5600-5603 (1840-1843) – Signatures of Rabbi David Tzvi Pateny of Pressburg and Rabbi David Grass of Tab
Sefer Kerem Shlomo, in two parts, printed in Pressburg (Vienna) 5600-5603 (1840-1843). It was authored by the holy gaon Rabbi Shlomo Drazinitz ZT"L, who served as the Dayan of the community of Alishov (today part of Bratislava) and later as the Av Beis Din and Rosh Yeshiva of Draznitz.
The first part of the sefer, dealing with Yoreh De’ah, was printed in Pressburg in 5600 [1840], and includes a very precious drush by the author of the Shach (Rabbi Shabsi Chaim). It also contains questions and answers on various topics of halacha. The second part, dealing with Orach Chaim, was printed there in 5603 [1843], and at the end, there is a poem on Even Ha’ezer.
The sefer was met with enthusiastic approbations from the Chasam Sofer and the Sha’arei Torah, both of whom extolled the author and his wonderful book, praising the great value of the drush from the Shach. The Chasam Sofer writes: "I have seen it and was astonished, how he merited this... and I said to myself, ‘One who learns Torah lishma is deserving of many things.’”
On the title page of the book, there is the signature of Rabbi David Tzvi Pateny. Additionally, the book bears the stamp of Rabbi David Grass, Dayan of the community of Bratislava (Pressburg).
