Júlio Martins da Siva Resende - Pintor contemporâneo, nasceu no Porto a 23 de Outubro de1917 e faleceu a 21 de Setembro de 2011. Discípulo de Alberto Siva, Joaquim Lopes, Dordio Gomes, Duco de la Haix e Othon Friez. Frequentou a Escola de Belas-Artes do Porto, obtendo de seguida uma bolsa do Instituto de Alta Cultura. Das inúmeras exposições individuais, salientam-se, três exposições antológicas na Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian (1989), no Museu Nacional do Rio de Janeiro (1990), e no Leal Senado em Macau. Foi galardoado com o Prémio Nacional da Academia de Belas-Artes; o Prémio de Artes Gráficas na Xª Bienal de Arte de S. Paulo; a medalha de Prata na Exposição Internacional de Bruxelas. Está representado no Museu Nacional Soares dos Reis; no Museu do Chiado; no Museu Calouste Gulbenkian; no Museu de Arte Moderna de S. Paulo; e na sede da UNESCO, em Paris. Foi membro da Academia Nacional de Belas-Artes Portuguesa e da Real Academia das Ciências, das Letras e das Belas-Artes belga.
