Stellar Alabama 5gal Andrew "Jack" Jackson Rye 1860's Jar Born 1836 ( Tennessee ) - 1910 Hamilton-Marion Co. AlabamaThis is a scarce early example of Jack Rye pottery and bears a stunning glaze and outstanding form, plus being a double handle jar. The jar has a great lime glaze with a heavy modified lime glaze at the base of the jar, and the great glaze encases the entire jar. The jar has a 5 on the top shoulder. This jar is from a lifetime collection out Marion Co. Alabama and is a fresh to the market example. Condition - has a handle missing, and glaze chip in the other handle, no other issues or damage-cracks or repairs. This is a large jar and will make a impressive addition to any collection.
