Reginald Hargreaves Harris OBE (1 March 1920 - 22 June 1992) was an English track racing cyclist in the 1940s and 1950s. He won the world amateur sprint title in 1947, two Olympic silver medals in 1948[2] and the world professional title in 1949, 1950, 1951 and 1954. His ferocious will to win made him a household name in the 1950s, but he also surprised many with a comeback more than 20 years later, winning a British title in 1974 at the age of 54. Axel Schandorff was a Danish track cyclist. He was born in Copenhagen. He competed for Denmark at the 1948 Summer Olympics held in London, United Kingdom in the individual sprint event where he finished in the bronze medal position. Alan Bannister He was born in Manchester and won a silver medal, representing Great Britain, in the tandem event at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London, together with Reg Harris.[2] He also competed in the same event at the 1952 Summer Olympics. Bannister was a three times British track champion, winning the British National Individual Sprint Championships in 1948, 1949 and 1950. Wally Summers, (1914-2007) was an international racing cyclist. From 1946 to 1957 he was active as a professional stayer; he was several times British master in this discipline. He started three times in the Tour de Suisse, in 1947 and 1949 he gave up, in 1948 he was 40th and last. Thomas Edward Godwin was an English cyclist who held the world cycling record for most miles covered in a year and the fastest completion of 100,000 mi. In 1939, Godwin entered the Golden Book of Cycling as the greatest long-distance rider in the world. He rode 75,065 mi in a year, averaging over 200 miles per day. Good condition.
