Irene Stry (1899/1904 - 1963) American , Oil on canvas board , Signed , 12" x 16" , w/frame 16" x 21"Irene Stry worked in Provincetown and Truro from the 1930's to the 1950's. She often signed her works "Clair", in addition to I. Stry. She exhibited at the Society of Independent Artists* in New York in 1937-38. She is best known for her impressionist seascapes and landscapes of Cape Cod, especially of Provincetown and Truro. She was also noted for her colorful still life.
