Antique Map - South America - D.Veremondo Rossi - Brazil - Argentina - Peru
This wonderful engraving " Carta rappresentante l'America Meridionale" (Map representing South America.) originates from "ll Gazzettiere americano contenente un distinto ragguaglio di tutte le parti del Nuovo Mondo della loro situazione, clima, terreno, prodotti, stato antico e moderno, merci..." ("The American Gazetteer containing a distinct account of all parts of the New World their situation, climate, terrain, produce, ancient and modern state, commodities..."), Italian edition published in Livorno by Marco Coltellini, 1763. The work included prints of America's native mammals and birds, as well as scenes of building and manufacture, commerce (of indigo, tobacco, sugar), birds eye views of towns and city plans of the Americas and Colonies. This map provides a comprehensive depiction of South America, showcasing its geographical features, neighboring regions, and surrounding bodies of water. It offers a detailed view of the continent's topography, allowing readers to discern the intricate network of rivers, mountains, and valleys that define its landscape. Additionally, the map presents a clear representation of the geographical coordinates, making it effortless to pinpoint specific locations and understand the region's spatial relationships. Whether for educational purposes or exploratory endeavors, this map serves as a valuable resource for unraveling the geographical complexities and rich diversity of South America. The reverse side is blank. This engraving is printed on laid paper with wide margins. This is an original print, not a modern reproduction.

The work is in good condition overall. There may be a few minor imperfections or fox or mottled marks to be expected with age. Please review the image carefully for condition and contact us with any questions.
