Antique c1850 Chips and Whet Stones Quilt measuring 61 x 83 inches. Quilt has 5 round blocks measuring 20" diameter, appliqued in the center of the quilt with an additional 7.5" round stars in circles and 4 quarter circles appliqued at each corner. There is a 2.5" sawtooth frame border in pink and blue prints and a 4" blue print outer border. It is hand appliqued, hand pieced and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting, white cotton reverse and an overdyed green fabric finished the edges. It is in poor condition with spots, overall toning, fading, and fabric deterioration. We believe there has also been some conservation effort. There is an hand embroidered set of initials on one back corner and an label stating that this was a gift to Judy Mathieson who is an award winning quilter, designer and author. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $25 is a domestic shipping estimate for first quilt and includes insurance. We will gladly combine multiple lots for your convenience and economy.
