It's never too hot to think about quilts!

Our July Antique & Vintage Quilt & Textile Auction will feature the first of several offerings of the Sharon Stark Living Estate.  Sharon was an PA Antique Quilt and Feedsack Dealer, and in our opinion, the authority on Feedsacks!  Also included is the continuation of a northern NJ collector of Patriotic and Americana Quilts, a local NJ collector of Botanical Quilts, Singer Featherweight,   Toy Sewing Machines, Reproduction Quilt Fabric and much much more!

Antique c1845 Chintz Flying Geese Quilt
Antique c1845 Flying Geese Quilt with amazing Chintz fabrics, ones I have not seen before. It measures 90x100". It is hand pieced and hand quilted. Comprised of 6 8"vertical rows of Flying Geese in an early green chintz print against a tan, brown and blue chintz print with alternating 5.5" rows of a lovely tan, brown, and red floral print chintz fabric. There is a border on the top and bottom, 5" wide in the same fabric. The backing is a solid tan cotton fabric, and has thin batting. The edge is finished with the back brought to the front and applied by hand. There may be a signature on the back, faded in red ink, it is illegible. It is in good condition with some overall toning and minor wear in the border, and one small tear, all having a small conservation effort to stabilize the areas, please see the photos. This quilt is part of the Living Estate of widely respected Sharon Stark of Sharon's Antiques Vintage Fabrics and Textiles of Eastern PA. She was an author and long time collector and dealer of antique quilts, fabrics and textiles. Sharon is the authority on Feedsacks, and you may remember her Rickrack website. If you have any doubt, please ask questions! We will provide extra pictures, or can schedule an in person or video conference preview at your convenience. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $25 is a domestic shipping estimate for first quilt and includes insurance. We will gladly combine multiple lots for your convenience and economy. Each additional quilt or quilt top we can pack in the same box is $5 each. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
