AN ACHAEMENID CARNELIAN CYLINDER SEAL.
6th-4th century BCE. 23.1 mm, 11.7 mm in diam, long-wise perforated. Depicting a winged sun under which the Persian king is portrayed as the "Master of the Animals", holding two mythical creatures and surrounded by animals. An Aramaic inscription reads: חתם סנך "Seal of Snk". In very good condition and rare. Ex Shlomo Moussaieff coll., Herzliyah Pituah (Non-exportable).
