AMERICAN INDIAN WAR MILITARY COAT AND CAPE
Military blue wool coat and purple wool cape of an American officer, likely from the American Indian War. Small tag at nape of neck reads 'The Pettibone Bro. M.F.G., Co.', coat comes with two blue and gold shoulder boards indicating service in the infantry 'Myr-Gold'. No personal marks on inside of jacket. Cape has no maker's tag on inside, small paper pinned inside '7 267F' and 'C No. 730'. One loop on braiding is worn. Shoulder boards are almost completely separated. Minor stitches on coat. Cape has discoloration and worn silk lining.
