Cover - Austerity in Israel Post, Kibbutz Evron 1955, Envelope mailed twice!
The culture of austerity affected other areas too, such as furniture and clothing. Evan the mail reflects the frugality of the period. This envelope was mailed twice! First on the 15 of Kislev - 30 November 1955 - to Kibbutz Evron, paid with metered postage. 5 days later on 20 Kislev, according to the postmark, the address was crossed out, the envelope turned over, and a label with a new address and stamp were pasted on, this time sent to Nahariya. Frugality in action.
