Autograph Letter from Rabbi Yechiel Michel HaLevi Epstein of Novardok, the “Aruch HaShulchan;” 1905
Handwritten letter of blessing from Rabbi Yechiel Michel HaLevi Epstein, author of Aruch HaShulchan, addressed to Rabbi Yosef David, ab”d of Siemiatycze.
Among his words, Rabbi Yechiel Michel writes that he had not been home all summer due to his poor health.
Rabbi Yechiel Michel HaLevi Epstein (1829-1908) served as the rabbi of Novardok and was a leading Halachic authority in the last generation.
“Tremendous genius… from all corners of the world people turned to him with halachic questions and hundreds of Torah learners gathered in his beis midrash.”
He authored the renowned sefer Aruch HaShulchan.
