The text narrates the significance of a rare medal commemorating the return of Schleswig (Slesvig) to Denmark after a plebiscite held in 1920, following the Treaty of Versailles, and expresses the gratitude of the Danish people toward the French troops, specifically the 22nd Battalion of Alpine Chasseurs. The author of the letter served as a Lieutenant in this battalion.
