"Rachel's Tomb" 300 years ago, Osher Sotil, hand-carved, 2004
An artwork in memory of Rachel our Matriarch.
A handcrafted piece, created over six months of dedicated work solely on this creation.
Depicting Rachel's Tomb as it appeared 300 years ago.
The piece bears the inscription:
"Thus said the Lord: A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation and bitter weeping; Rachel is weeping for her children. She refuses to be comforted for her children, because they are no more. Thus said the Lord: Restrain your voice from weeping and your eyes from tears; for there is reward for your labor, declares the Lord, and they shall return from the land of the enemy. There is hope for your future, declares the Lord, and your children shall return to their own territory."

Techniques used in crafting the menorah: Carving, inlay, and cutting.
Materials: Brass, walnut wood, wenge wood, lapis lazuli stones, cat's eye, red coral, white agate, and turquoise.

Literature: Featured in the book "Israeli Art", translated into French and English, published in 2008 to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the State of Israel.
