A GILT-BRONZE BALLOON ASCENT FRENCH MEDAL, 1878
Beautiful commemorative gilt-bronze medal celebrating Henry Giffard's balloon ascent in 1878 across Paris in France. The obverse depicts a ballon ascending over the City of Paris, Panorama of PARIS 1878. The reverse reads "Souvenir De Mon Ascension Dans Le Grand Ballon Captif a Vapeur De Mr Henry Giffard." With an original ribbon.
