Roman Imperial coinage > Severus Alexander, 222-235 AD: AR Denarius (20mm, 3.5g), struck 232-235 AD; laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right & legend IMP ALEXAN | DER PIVS AVG / Spes walking to left, holding flower and hem of skirt (arm mostly vertical, hem near top of left leg) & legend SPES P | VBLICA. Reference: RIC IV 254; in Mint State, slightly off-center but complete & superbly struck with excellent detail and brilliant luster; coin alignment.
