BARTHOLOMEW I OF CONSTANTINOPLE: (1940- ) Born Dimitrios Arhondonis. Archbishop of Constantinople and ecumenical Patriarch since 1991. Spiritual leader of the Eastern Orthodox Christians. Bartholomew´s era has been widely valued for his efforts to promote religious freedom, human rights, tolerance, and also for his promoting protection of the environment, and for this reason he has earned the popular title of ''The Green Patriarch''. A very fine signed and inscribed colour 8 x 10 photograph by Bartholomew I, in Greek, the image showing him in a half-length pose. Signed and inscribed in bold black ink to the lower white border.
