SCHMELING MAX: (1905-2005) German boxer, World Heavyweight Champion 1930-32. Signed 10 x 8 photograph, the image depicting Schmeling on the receiving end of a punch from Jack Sharkey during their controversial second World Heavyweight championship fight which took place at Madison Square Garden Bowl, Long Island City, Queens, New York, on 21st June 1932. A caption within the negative at the head of the image states Jack Sharkey beats Max Schmeling for Heavyweight Championship. Signed by Schmeling in bold blue ink with his name alone to a light area at the base of the image. With a small oval authentication sticker neatly affixed to the lower left corner. EX
