Rare – Inyan Beilis – "The Beilis Affair" – Shedeh Lavan, 1914 (תרע"ד)

This is a rare and important historical book titled Inyan Beilis (The Beilis Affair), published in 1914 (תרע"ד) Shedeh Lavan. The book is a concise translation of the stenographic records of the trial of Menachem Mendel Beilis, the Jewish man falsely accused of ritual murder in Russia. It summarizes the events of his trial, following the course of the legal proceedings and ending with his full acquittal.

The book was printed by the little-known Progress printing press of Ze'ev Naskin, and includes an introduction providing context to the trial and its significance.

Condition: Good. The book retains its original cover and is in well-preserved condition, showing only light signs of age and usage. The text is clear and the binding is intact, making it an excellent copy for collectors and historians.

This book is a rare historical resource detailing one of the most infamous anti-Semitic cases of the early 20th century. The Beilis trial had profound political and social implications for the Jewish community, and this work offers a snapshot of the public and legal response to the charges against him. As such, it is a valuable item for collectors of Jewish history, legal studies, and works on anti-Semitism.
