Ketubah on Parchment - Reggio, 1820 - Signatures of Reggio Rabbis
Ketubah recording the marriage of the groom Mordechai Haim son of the deceased Netanel Cividale with the bride Bat Sheva Mazal Tov bat David Graciati. Reggio (Reggio Emilia), 1820.
Ketubah on parchment. On top of the leaf, in large letters, “BeSiman Tov UbeMazal Tov…”. Around the leaf, framed, blessing verses. “Kol Sasson veKol Simcha” on the four corners.
On the four inner corners appear illustrations of Fleur de Lis, vases with flowers, a winged lion and additional decorations.
On the bottom appear signatures of Rabbi Eliakim Padovani (Reggio’s rabbi, his approbation appears in the book “Sha’arei HaTalmud”, Reggio,1810), and Rabbi Ya’akov Israel Karmi (Moreh Zedek and later, rabbi of Reggio, a descendant of Rabbi Israel Ya’akov Karmi).
41X33.5 cm. Good condition. Spotting and creases, folding marks, ink faded in some places.
