Megilah Tractate – Venice, 1521 – First Edition – Bomberg Printing Press – Signature of Rabbi Aharon Zelig of Stanislav, the Great-Grandfather of the Author of 'Yismach Moshe' and Additional Signatures – an Impressive Copy
Babylonian Talmud, Megilah tractate – with the rashi commentary, Tosfot, Piskei Tosfot and Maimonides' commentary on the Mishnah. Venice. 1521. Printed by Daniel Bomberg. First edition.
On the title page of the book and its reverse side, ancient inscriptions.
On the reverse side of the title page, a nice ancient signature: "Aharon Zelig the son of Rabbi Mordehcai Gimpel of Lvov". This is the signature of rabbi Aharon Zelig, the son of Rabbi Mordechai Gimpel who was a leader in Lvov, and the great-grandfather of the 'Yismach Moshe' Rabbi Moshe Teitelbaum.
Handwritten lingual corrections on leaf 10a.
Three leaves at the end of the tractate are missing (with Maimonides' commentary on the Mishnah and more, not with the text of the Talmud).
Condition: Good. Wear. A few moth signs on the margins of several leaves, with almost no damage to text. Stains.
