The Heretic who Impersonated a Rabbi – a Sharp Letter by Rabbi Shlomo Deutsch Av Beit Din of Nitra, a Disciple of the Chatam Sofer, to the Author of 'Yeriot Shlomo'
A letter by Rabbi Shlomo Deutsch Av Beit Din of Nitra, a Disciple of the Chatam Sofer, the rabbi of Rabbi Shaul Brach of Kashoy and grandfather of Rabbi Yisrael David Schlesinger.
Sent in 1856 to the author of 'Yeriot Shlomo', Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Ulman Av Beit Din of Makó.
The Gaon begins his letter with words of praise and admiration to the author of 'Yeriot Shlomo' and then describes a young man named Itzik Wolf who was believed to be a Torah scholar and rabbi yet was discovered as a heretic.
Rabbi Shlomo Deutsch ends his letter with a request to chase the impertinent man so that he will return the letter of recommendation Rabbi Deutsch had written for him.
The entire letter is handwritten and signed by Rabbi Deutsch.
Good condition. Fold marks.
