Classic commentary to Megilas Esther by the famed Mekubal R. Shlomo Alkabetz of Tzfas. According to tradition, the author wrote this sefer as a young man and presented it as gift to his father-in-law, although it was not printed until 1585 shortly after the author’s passing.
R. Shlomo Alkabetz (c. 1505-84), originated from a Rabbinical family exiled from Spain who settled in Turkey. He was a Talmid of R. Yosef Tiatzik. In 1535 he settled in Tzfas, where he was one the renowned group of Mekubalim which included R. Yosef Karo (Beis Yosef), R. Moshe Alshich, and his brother-in-law R. Moshe Kordevero (RaMaK). Author of Lchah Dodi which became an integral part of the Shabbos liturgy.
