Steinway rosewood grand piano, model C, ca 1877
A Steinway & Sons Louis XV style carved rosewood grand piano, model C, serial number 37957, circa 1877, having an adjustable fret carved music stand and 85 keys. This model is known as the Centennial Grand. Front legs have been photographed in both configurations of scrolls facing out and in.
Dimensions:length 7ft 3in; width 55in; height 40in
Provenance:From a Staten Island collection.
Condition: The soundboard with cracks and wear. The case with marks, wear, rubbing, dings, dents, nicks, surface scratches and small losses commensurate with age and use. Surface dirt overall inside case. There is a piece of applied carved decoration that needs to be re-glued. The piano last tuned in June 2022. We encourage personal inspection, or inspection by a technician.
