New England Mahogany Slant Front Desk
A New England Mahogany Slant Front Desk, Third Quarter 18th Century. Of diminutive proportions. The hinged fall enclosing an interior fitted with seven pigeon over three small drawers, having three graduated long drawers below, raised on ball and claw feet.
Dimensions: Height 39in; width 34 1/2in; depth 19in; case width 33in.
Condition:
Structurally sound. The brass hardware has been replaced, but in the original holes to the drawer fronts. Several scattered patches to the interior of the hinged fall to the right side where it meets the breadboard end. With rebuilding, reinforcements and replacements to glue blocks and carved returns to the underside of case. Feet are original. General marks, wear, dings, dents and surface scratches overall. With key.
