A Continental Baroque Carved Oak Architectural Element / Furniture Fragment, 18th Century and Later. Centered by a Classical carved panel in relief. Together with a Baroque style carved oak and caned armchair, late 19th century. With barley twist stiles, legs and stretchers. The underside of seat with applied label inscribed, 'W. F. GREENWOOD & SONS, LTD. / ANTIQUE DEALERS & FURNISHERS / 24 STONEGATE, YORK.' (2)

Dimensions: Height of architectural element 29 1/4in; width 45 1/2in; depth 9in; Height of armchair 49 1/2in; width 26in; depth of seat 16in; seat height 18 1/2in.


Condition:

The architectural element is structurally sound. With general marks, wear, nicks, abrasions, surface scratches and small losses overall. Evidence of old wood worm and minor losses throughout. The chair lacking a carved finial to the crest and damage to the caned back splat on chair.
