A 19th Century French Tantalus
A mid 19th century example with an ebonized case decorated in the Boulle style with inlaid brass and mother of pearl. The case opens to reveal four decanters and sixteen cordials, all decorated with gilt stars.
Dimensions: each decanter is 2 3/4in x 2 3/4in and 8in tall, each cordial is 1 3/4in diameter and 3in tall, the case is 9in x 12in and 10 1/2in tall.
Condition:
One cordial has a foot that is detached but present and three other cordials have foot chips. The case shows expected wear.
