A Philadelphia Queen Anne Mahogany Tilt-Top Candlestand, Mid 18th Century

The circular two board dished-top with birdcage action support above a tapered ring-turned pedestal with carved wafer and suppressed ball,  raised on a tripod base with cabriole legs, terminating in pad feet.

Dimensions: Height 28in; diameter 19 1/2in.

Provenance: From a New Jersey Collection.


Condition:

Structurally sound. Retaining an older surface. The top having approximately 1/2" of shrinkage. The dish-top with two old repairs along rim. Lacking the wedge that holds the top tight inside the birdcage to the central support. Otherwise good honest condition.
