A Pair of Hand-Painted Blue Bill Duck Hunting Decoys, Probably Mason Decoy Factory, Detroit, Early 20th Century
Solid body construction in working paint with glass eyes and lead weights to the underside. Together with a small hand-painted brown decoy with glass eyes and lead weight to the underside. (3)
Dimensions: Height of pair 6 1/2in; width 5 3/4in; length 14 1/4in.; Height of smallest 6in; width 4 3/4in; length 10 1/2in.
Condition:
Each with working paint and in "gunning" condition. Typical marks, wear, and surface abrasions overall. The pair of blue bill decoys appear to retain their original painted surface, with minor age cracks, each with small chipped losses to their bills. The small brown decoy with refreshing to the surface throughout.
