A Massachusetts Federal Inlaid Mahogany Work Table, Probably Boston or Salem, First Quarter 19th Century
The rectangular top with outset corners above a frieze fitted with two drawers, the top drawer with hinged writing surface, flanked by ring-turned stiles and canted corners, above a lower work basket, raised on reeded tapered legs, ending in brass casters.
Dimensions: Height 30 1/2in; width 17 3/4in; depth 13 3/4in.
Condition:
Structurally sound. Minor movement to veneers. The fabric to the work basket is heavily sun fading overall. Typical marks, wear, nicks and surface scratches.
