circa 1900, signed and inscribed on brass plaque "Les deux gosses/par J. Le Guluche", maker Fontaine & Durieux Paris, embossed circle mark and model number 249, terracotta painted in earth colour, above oblong plinth scenery-like terrain with a couple looking out of a caravan, in front of them two children lighting a campfire with a cooking kettle, scene from the novel of the same name by Pierre Decourcelle (1856 Paris to 1926 ibid.), published in 1880, a chip on the right edge of the plinth, otherwise good, expertly restored condition, h 31 cm. Artist info: French sculptor (1849 Plourvino to 1915 Vellejuif), active for the manufactories Villenauxe-la-Grande (Aube), L'Isle-Adam (Val-d'Oise) as well as Mauger and Letut. Source: Wikipedia.
