Complete, Fine Set of Sdei Chemed Published by the Rebbe with Additions - Kehat New York 1959-1960.
Complete set, ten volumes containing the famous work Sdei Chemed by the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Chezekaya Medini of Hebron, which is an encyclopedia-like work for Klaleן HaShas, alphabetically ordered. Including the indices and appendices.

Second edition in the format of the volumes that were printed  by the personal request of the Rebbe the Rayatz (Kehat New York between 1949-1953). This edition was published mostly in 1959, with some volumes published in 1960, Added on these title pages: "Second edition with additions".

In each volume, on verso of the title page, there is a foreword (photocopy of the first Kehat edition) by the publisher, no other than the Rebbe himself during his father-in-law’s lifetime. The last volume refers to his late father-in-law with the title זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע . On the facing page is the notation: "באמצע הכנת כרך זה לדפוס נסתלק כבוד קדושת מו"ח... יוסף יצחק... אדמו"ר מליובאוויטש גאון ישראל ונשיאו " (In the middle of the preparation of this volume his Holiness passed away… Yosef Yitzhak…the Admor of Lubavitch Gaon Yisrael).

Additional title page for the indices. Fine printed bindings, faded spines and some slightly loose ones. Some rust stains. Good overall condition.

On verso of the binding of each volume, a fine ex-libris of Rabbi Yisrael Ernstein with the notation:  "מספרי הרב ישראל ארנשטיין"
