Rabbi Yoel Ungar (1800-1886), disciple of the Chasam Sofer and of Rabbi Mordechai Banet of Nikolsburg. At first he engaged in commerce not wishing to sustain himself through his Torah, but after the collapse of his business he agreed to accept the rabbinate of Paks, where he also headed a large Yeshiva. One of the leading Hungarian rabbis of his generation. Author of Shaalos Uteshuvos Hariva.
