Fine Pair of Henry Dasson French Louis XV Bronze Cherub Andirons
A pair of French bronze figural andirons stamped A HD for Henry Dasson (1825–1896). Henry Dasson was a renowned nineteenth century Parisian maker of gilt-bronze mounted furniture. Unlike other cabinetmakers of the time Dasson began his career as a bronze sculptor, and consequently one characteristic of his work is the quality of his bronze and more precisely of the chiseling. Depicting cherubs laying down with swans in front of cattails on scroll form base, good condition. Measuring approx 19''h, normal use and wear throughout, see photos.
