a letter from Rabbi Shlomo of Babov to the new year

Rabbi Shlomo Halberstam [1908-2000] was the Admo"r of Bobov; son of the Admo"r Rabbi Ben-Tziyon of Bobov, author of Kedushat Tziyon; and direct paternal descendant of the "Divrei Chaim" of Sanz. Rabbi Shlomo was named after the founder of the Bobov dynasty, Rabbi Shlomo of Bobov. He was rabbinically ordained in his youth by the rabbis of Galicia, and in 1931 he began to serve as a rabbi in Bobov. He was miraculously saved from the Nazi inferno and immigrated to the United States in 1946 where he revived Bobov Chassidut after the destruction and turned it into a Chassidic kingdom. Some of his Torah thoughts are compiled in Kivtzeiֲ Kerem Shlomo and in Likkutei Kerem Shlomo [Encyclopedia L'Chassidut Part III, pp. 706].
