In the summer of 1992, the aspiring poet Leonid Blank wrote a letter to Joseph Brodsky, informing him that everyone had died or left, and now Leonid Blank was the only heir to the Silver Age. The letter also contained poems with a request to show them to foreign publishers. To the surprise of the local intelligentsia, a response soon came from New York.
Blank Leonid Aronovich was born on May 31, 1941 in Leningrad. In 1963 he graduated from the Leningrad Technological Institute. In 1978 he became a candidate of chemical sciences. Author of collections of poems: Faces of Petropol, St. Petersburg State Technical University Publishing House, 1997, 204 pages, hardcover, reduced format. Sacraments of Fate, RIK Culture, St. Petersburg, 1999, 124 pages, paperback. Secrets of human paths, RIK Culture, St. Petersburg, 2002, 124 pages, paperback. Secrets of dawn paths, St. Petersburg, 2011, 203 pages, paperback.
Let's tell them, with a sonorous mother, marking pauses, strictly:
a tablecloth for you, crests, and a towel for the road.
Get out of us in a zhupan, not speaking in a uniform,
by address by three letters by all four
sides. Let now in the hut Hansa's choir
with Poles put you on four bones, bastards.
How to climb into the loop, so together, choosing bitches in more often,
Is it sweeter to nibble chicken from borscht alone?
(Joseph Brodsky, 1992).
